These terms apply when you use this website or buy a personalised newspaper from us. By using the site you agree to them.
What we provide
The free birthday pages. Enter a date and we show you what we can find about that day — chart music, historical events, prices, and similar. This is free to use and you don't need an account.
The paid newspaper. You can buy a personalised newspaper for a chosen date, delivered as a high-resolution PNG and a print-ready PDF. You download it yourself during the purchase process.
Your right to cancel, and why you give it up
Normally, when you buy digital content online you have 14 days to change your mind and get a refund.
Your newspaper is generated and delivered immediately after you pay. Before paying, you tick a box that says: “I agree to the Terms. I want my newspaper generated and delivered immediately, and I understand that I lose my right to cancel once it has been generated.” Ticking it both accepts these terms and requests immediate delivery. That means once your newspaper has been generated, we cannot offer a refund because you have changed your mind.
If you do not want to give up that right, do not tick the box and do not complete the purchase.
When we will refund you
The above does not affect your legal rights if something goes wrong. We will refund you if:
- The newspaper failed to generate, or you were charged without receiving it
- The file is corrupted or will not open
- You were charged more than once for the same order
- The newspaper is materially not what was described

Accuracy of the historical content
The historical content on this site and in the newspapers is compiled from public sources, including archival records, published chart data and openly licensed reference material.
We put it together in good faith, but we do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or free from error. Records from earlier decades are patchy, sources disagree with each other, and some details cannot be verified at all. Where we have no data for something, we leave it out rather than invent it.
Please do not rely on anything here as a factual or historical record, for research, or for any purpose where accuracy matters.
Use of AI
Some parts of the newspaper are produced using AI. Specifically, the illustration and some of the written content are generated rather than written or drawn by a person. The historical facts, dates, prices and chart data are not generated — they come from the sources described above.
What you can do with your newspaper
You own your copy. We keep the copyright in the newspaper template, layout, design and any artwork we produce.
When you buy a newspaper, you get a permanent licence to use it for personal purposes. That includes printing it, framing it, giving it as a gift, and sharing it with family and friends.
You may not resell it, reproduce it commercially, or use it as part of a product or service you sell.
Your photo
If you upload a photo, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Your photo is not stored. It is converted in your own browser and used to generate your newspaper, and our servers keep no copy. See our Privacy Policy for detail.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use the site in a way that damages it or interferes with other people's use of it
- Attempt to access parts of the site you are not meant to reach
- Scrape, copy or republish our content in bulk
- Upload anything unlawful, or any image you do not have the right to use
Pricing and payment
Prices are shown before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or hold your card details.
If your currency is not GBP, the amount is converted at checkout and the conversion fee is shown to you before you pay.
Availability
We do our best to keep the site running but we do not promise it will always be available. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including the paid product, at any time.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.
This site is provided for personal, non-commercial use. If you use it for business purposes, we are not liable for any business losses.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you bought.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own country.
