Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I find out what was number one the day I was born?
- Simply enter your date of birth in the form above and select your country (UK, US, or Australia). We'll instantly look up the #1 song on the chart for that exact week, along with the biggest film and top TV show of your birth year.
- What years does this tool cover?
- We have UK number 1 song data from November 1952 onwards, US Billboard Hot 100 data from August 1958, and Australian ARIA/Kent Music Report data from January 1940. Film and TV data covers all three countries from the late 1940s and early 1950s onwards.
- Can I see the number one song in the US or Australia?
- Yes β use the UK / US / AU switcher to change country perspective. The tool shows the #1 song from the US Billboard Hot 100 for American users and the ARIA Chart for Australian users. Australian chart history goes all the way back to 1940.
- Why is the film and book data shown as yearly, not weekly?
- Weekly box office and bestseller chart data from the 1940s through to the 1990s is not reliably available in a structured digital form, so we show the biggest film and top book of your birth year rather than the specific week. The annual data is sourced from historical box office records and Publishers Association archives.
- Can I share my result?
- Yes β when your result loads it gets its own URL that you can share directly. Use the Copy Link button to grab it, or share straight to X (Twitter) or Facebook using the share buttons beneath your result card.
