Micheál Martin became Taoiseach again after elections returned Fianna Fáil as the largest party, with Sinn Féin losing ground from its 2020 high. Ireland was wrestling with familiar problems — housing, healthcare, migration — and new ones: AI, climate change, the future of work. The country that had barely survived economically in the 1980s was now a hub of European tech and pharma activity, hosting companies worth more than the entire Irish economy had been a generation ago.
